Beitou hot spring day passes, no room required
Almost every hot spring hotel in Beitou will sell you the water without the bed. It is the format most visitors actually want — a proper resort bath for two or three hours on a day trip — and the prices run from about US$15 to US$68.
The short answer
$14.95 at the cheap end, $67.59 at the top, and $17.15 for the one most people should book. Day-use is nearly always cheaper booked online than at the counter, and the gap can be large — Spring City is NT$800 at the door.

The product · 02 — what you are actually buying
A day pass is not a spa day
The English phrase "day pass" sets the wrong expectation. What Beitou hotels sell is usually a single admission to the bathing area for a set stretch of time — commonly two to three hours — not free run of the hotel from morning to night.
What is normally included
- The pools. Whatever the hotel's public bathing area is — outdoor terraces at Spring City, an indoor hall elsewhere.
- Locker, shower, toiletries. Standard at resort level and the main thing you are paying for over a bathhouse.
- Towels and often a robe. Check the listing; at the cheaper end you may be renting.
What is normally not
- A private room. Different product, different price. Several rows in the table above are actually private-room bookings and we have said so in each.
- Food. Some passes bundle a meal or afternoon tea; most do not.
- Unlimited time. Two to three hours is the norm and it is plenty — you cannot usefully spend longer than that in 40°C water.
- A swim cap. Required in co-ed pools, sold at the door for about NT$100 if you forget.
Two to three hours is genuinely enough. A full session is fifteen minutes in, a few minutes out, repeated two or three times. Anyone selling you a whole day in hot spring water is selling you dehydration.

The gap · 03 — where booking ahead actually saves money
The counter price is usually higher, and sometimes much
Beitou runs a two-tier price structure that nobody explains on arrival. Hotels post a counter tariff in NT$ and simultaneously sell discounted vouchers through booking platforms. The counter tariff is the one on the sign at reception; the voucher price is the one you can have if you spend two minutes on your phone before walking in.
Spring City is the clearest case on this page: NT$800 at the door against $17.15 booked ahead. That is roughly a third off for booking from the bus stop outside.
This cuts both ways, and here is the part we should be straightforward about: we earn a commission on the voucher and nothing at the counter. So take the general advice — check the voucher price before you walk in — and check it against the hotel's own site too, because occasionally the hotel undercuts everyone.
When the door is the better move
- Longnice and the old bathhouses. Not sold online at all. NT$150 in cash, walk in.
- Anywhere you want to see first. Vouchers are usually valid for months, so you can look at the place, then book on your phone in the lobby.
- Small groups changing plans. Cash at the counter has no cancellation terms to read.

Questions · 06
Beitou day passes, answered
Can you use Beitou hot spring hotels without staying overnight?
Yes. Most Beitou hot spring hotels and resorts sell day-use bathing without a room, typically as a two to three hour admission. Prices run from about $14.95 at the cheap end to $67.59 at the top.
How much is a Beitou hot spring day pass?
$14.95 at Beitou Water House is the cheapest we can verify; $17.15 at Spring City is the one most people should book; $67.59 at Villa 32 is the most expensive. Counter prices are usually higher than online — Spring City is NT$800 at the door.
How long does a day pass last?
Usually two to three hours of bathing-area access rather than a full day. That is genuinely enough: a proper session is fifteen minutes in the water, a few minutes out, repeated two or three times.
Do you need to book a Beitou day pass in advance?
Rarely for availability — day passes seldom sell out. The reason to book ahead is price: the online voucher is usually cheaper than the counter tariff, sometimes by a third.
What is included in a Beitou day pass?
Access to the hotel's public bathing area, a locker, showers and toiletries, and usually towels and a robe at resort level. Private rooms, meals and swim caps are normally extra.
Do you need a swimsuit for a day pass?
For co-ed pools yes, plus a swim cap, both enforced. Some hotels also have nude single-sex wings where swimwear is banned instead. Check which one you are buying.
What is the cheapest hot spring in Beitou?
Longnice at NT$150 cash at the door — nude, single-sex, open since 1907 and not sold online. Cheaper still, the Lengshuikeng public bathhouse up in Yangmingshan is free, and the foot baths in Beitou Park are free. The NT$60 city pool remains closed.
