What the money buys
A private air-conditioned vehicle with a bilingual driver-guide, hotel pickup, and an itinerary that can be reordered on the spot. Parking, fuel and tolls are included; meals are not.
What it does not buy
Access. Every stop on this route is free to enter, exactly as on the group tour. You are paying for the vehicle and the flexibility, not for anything you could not walk into.
The evidence problem
Eleven reviews at 4.0 is thin, and 4.0 is the second-weakest rating in our whole tour table. The two quotes below are positive and both name the guide — which is the same pattern as the anchor tour, on a twentieth of the sample.

- You want hotel pickup rather than a meeting point
- Someone in the group needs a slower or reordered day
- You are travelling with a lot of luggage or camera gear

- You expect a hot spring bath — this is a foot bath again

What is included in the private tour?
A private air-conditioned vehicle, a bilingual English and Mandarin driver-guide, hotel pickup in Taipei, passenger insurance, and parking, fuel and tolls. Meals are not included.
How long is the private tour?
Eight hours, with nine stops across Beitou and Yangmingshan including the Hot Spring Museum, Thermal Valley, Xiaoyoukeng, Qingtiangang and a foot bath at Lengshuikeng.
Do you get a hot spring bath on the private tour?
No. The Lengshuikeng stop is a foot bath. If you want to soak, budget a bath separately — from NT$150 at a bathhouse or about US$17 at a resort.
